KEEP IT CLEAN

CLEAN IT. KEEP THE SHAPE

For everyday dirt, sweat, and outdoor grime, gentle cleaning is usually all your hat needs. Avoid aggressive washing methods that can damage the shape, materials, or leather patch.

01

Spot Clean First

Use a clean, damp cloth or soft brush to remove loose dirt and surface grime. Start gently before adding soap or more water.

02

Use Mild Soap

For stubborn areas, use a small amount of mild detergent or gentle soap with cool or lukewarm water. Work the area gently instead of aggressively scrubbing.

03

Rinse Lightly

Remove soap residue with a clean, damp cloth or light rinse. Avoid soaking the hat longer than necessary, especially around the leather patch.

04

Reshape by Hand

While the hat is still slightly damp, gently restore the crown and brim to the shape you want before drying.

05

Air Dry

Allow the hat to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. Keep it away from clothes dryers, heaters, and other sources of high heat.

GENUINE LEATHER

Take Care of the Patch.

Our leather patches are made to age naturally with use. Some variation in color, texture, and patina is normal with genuine leather.

When cleaning your hat, avoid soaking or aggressively scrubbing the patch. If it gets wet, gently blot away excess moisture and allow it to air dry naturally.

THE SIMPLE RULES

A Few Things Matter.

Do

Treat It Like Gear.

  • Spot clean whenever possible.
  • Use cool or lukewarm water.
  • Use a mild detergent or gentle soap.
  • Blot excess moisture instead of twisting the hat.
  • Air dry naturally while supporting the crown and brim shape.
  • Store the hat somewhere dry and out of prolonged direct sunlight.

Avoid

Don't Cook the Hat.

  • Do not put the hat in a clothes dryer.
  • Avoid hot water and high heat.
  • Avoid bleach or harsh cleaning chemicals.
  • Do not aggressively scrub the leather patch.
  • Avoid soaking the hat longer than necessary.
  • Do not crush or store the hat under heavy items.

WHEN THE TRIP IS OVER

Keep the Shape.

Let a damp or sweaty hat dry completely before storing it. Keep the crown supported and avoid leaving the hat crushed under other gear.

If the crown becomes misshapen, gently work it back into place by hand while slightly damp, then allow it to air dry in the desired shape. Avoid high heat.
